The following policies have been established to provide standards for Kennedy Space Center employees
and guests in order to promote safety and health, preserve our park facilities and the natural
environment and to assure your visit will be pleasant.

Responsibility: Members, family members and guests assume a substantial
degree of risk and responsibility for their own safety when visiting areas that are managed
and maintained as natural or recreational environments. Members, family members and
guests must abide by NASA/KSC safety, security and health regulations and by established
park policies. Members and guests will be held responsible for their personal conduct
and non-adherence to KARS Park policies, and/or damage(s) to park property or repeated
violations of park policies will result in loss of membership and park use privileges.

Supervision of Minor Children: Parents, guardians or other adults in charge
are responsible for the supervision of minor children. Children under 18 years of age
must be accompanied by an adult. Children should not be allowed to play and run around
through occupied campsites, play in restrooms, or play unattended at the dock area.

Park Management: The park manager has the authority to deny park admission
or usage for any of the following reasons or for any other reason as deemed appropriate;
repeated violations will result in loss of membership:
- Non-adherence to established KARS policies or rules
- Abusive or improper behavior
- Fraudulent KARS Passes or use of a valid pass by unauthorized individual(s)
- Unauthorized use of transceivers/keys
- Entire park or campground is required for a NASA/KSC activity
- Additional sites are required for a NASA/KSC activity
- Excessive speed
- Emergency situation(s)

Facilities: Please report any facility Not working properly immediately to
the park manager by calling (321) 867-3891.

Swimming, wading, skin or scuba diving, and use of jet skis are prohibited in the
park. Air mattresses, inner tubes, surfboards, and styrofoam flotation devices are prohibited.

Motor Vehicles: Vehicles shall not be operated at speeds greater than the
posted speed limit or in a manner that will endanger the safety of persons, property or
wildlife. Vehicles shall be parked only in authorized parking areas and shall not be parked
in such a manner as to block access, restrict traffic, or inhibit the free movement of other
vehicles, persons or wheelchairs. No motorcycles, mini-bikes or go-carts will be allowed
within the park or campground for any purpose other than on the road leading into the park.

No Motor Zone: KARS Park is a "no motor zone", and use of motorized boats
which include any boat having an attached motor (or non-attached and capable of use) including
all outboard, inboard and electric trolling motors, air thrust boats, hovercraft and personal
watercraft are prohibited. Boat speeds are restricted to "idle speed" in the KARS marina.
Non-motorized boats such as canoes, Rowboats and sailboats are permitted.

Pets: All pets must be on a leash and under the control of the owner at all
times. The owner must clean up after their pets. Pets are not allowed in the picnic areas.
It is the owner's responsibility to prevent excessive barking, howling and loud noises,
so as not to disturb others. Violation of these rules is grounds for removal from the park
or termination of camping privileges. Abandonment of an animal or tying up pets and leaving
the premises is prohibited.

Fishing: Fishing is permitted along the shoreline of the park and from the
observation pier. Fishing should not interfere with campers using shoreline sites. Fishing
lines must be attended at all times and discarding of tangled line into the water is prohibited.
Fishing (catch and release of all fish) is also permitted by youth 14 years of age and under,
with adult supervision, in the fish pond behind Area II. Live bait is permitted and no boats
will be allowed. Permit and key to the fishing pond area may be obtained/checked out by any
member with a KARS membership card at the KARS Country Store during store hours and key and
permit must be returned by 4:00 P.m. on the same day.
Commercial fishing and launching of commercial vessels is strictly prohibited. Violators
will be reported to the appropriate authorities and park membership will be terminated
permanently.

Wildlife: Visitors will not annoy, hunt, catch, harm, kill, trap, chase,
tease, pet or shoot any animal, reptile, or bird. DO NOT feed or entice alligators.
Alligators overcome their natural shyness and become accustomed or attracted to humans when fed.

Firearms: Possession of loaded firearms, bow and arrows, air or gas fired
projectiles, or any other device that can cause injury to persons or animals or can
cause damage or destruction to park property is prohibited. Discharging firearms will
be allowed only in the confines of the Gun Range area at approved events and appropriate times.

Balloons: Helium filled balloons pose a danger to the health and safety
of marine wildlife and create a litter problem. No releases of helium filled balloons
into the atmosphere within the park will be permitted.

Fireworks: Fireworks of any type are prohibited on KARS property. Violators will:
- Lose KARS membership/privileges
- Be subject to a fine
- Pay entire cost for manhours/resources expended in controlling/extinguishing fires due to use of fireworks

Fires: Campfires are permitted in camp rings only.

BBQ Grills: Park Grills must remain on KARS property at all times.

Observation Pier: Fishing is permitted.
Please do not clean your fish on pier. Please use the cleaning
table provided to the left of the Security post. No roller
skates, in-line skates, skateboards, or bicycles are allowed
on the pier.

Canoes: Canoes are available for check-out on a first come, first served basis
at the KARS Country Store from 8:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Please see current fee schedule. Life jackets, paddles, and
cushions are provided. Please adhere to the following:
- Valid membership card will be required to check out canoe and membership card will be retained in the KARS Country Store until the canoe is returned
- Canoe occupancy is limited to 2 adults and 2 children
- Life jackets must be worn
- No standing up in canoe
- No alcoholic beverages in canoe
- Return canoe to original point of pick up
Canoes must be returned by 4:00 p.m. daily. Please place canoes on canoe rack
and return issued equipment to the Country Store. As a courtesy to others, please clean
(wash off mud, etc.) equipment before turning in. For safety reasons, members and
guests are prohibited from using canoes in the river after 4:00 p.m.

Showers: Showers are available in Building P6-1687.

Laundry Facility: Laundry facility is available to registered campers only
from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Please visit the Country Store to check out the key.

Restrooms: Do not flush indissoluble or heavy fibrous materials down
sinks or toilets. Place personal hygiene materials in appropriate containers. Dishwashing
in restrooms sinks or at water spigots is not permitted.

Abandoned Property: KARS Park I has a designated area for storage of RV, campers, boats, and trailers (Spring 2008). Storage of personal property is prohibited elsewhere in the park. Personal property or vehicles left in the park for a period of more than 30 days will be deemed abandoned and will be removed at the owner's expense and disposed of as provided by law. Owner will be responsible for any expenses incurred by KARS Park
